The NC club said on the 7th, "Shin Young-woo reported a slight pain in Australia on the 4th," adding, "We decided that it would be better to return home early for a checkup than to continue pitching too much."
After returning home on the 8th, Shin will decide whether to join the spring camp after a thorough examination.
Shin is a key prospect who joined NC as the fourth player in the first round of the 2023 Rookie Draft. Since his debut in the first division of the 2024 season, he has lost one game and posted an ERA of 10.61 in four games.
NC dispatched four players, Shin Young-woo, Seo Ui-tae, Won Jong-hae and Park Ji-han, to the ABL Perth club this winter to give promising players a chance to play in real games.
Shin Young-woo pitched in seven games and was responsible for 31 ⅓ innings with a 2-1 record and an ERA of 3.45.
He has the lowest ERA among pitchers in charge of more than 30 innings in the team.
